After the second meeting in Tallinn, we kept in touch — not as often, but steadily.
By the way, during the previous meeting we went on a Tallinn – Stockholm cruise, which I didn’t mention last time. The cruise also went in a good friendly atmosphere: we sailed in one cabin on different beds, spent a day walking around Stockholm and watched various entertainment programs on the ferry.

Sometimes she sent something from Moscow, I replied with something from Tallinn. And right before New Year we decided to meet again. We met, if I remember correctly, on December 30. I drove to pick her up from Narva at the Russia–Estonia border crossing. She arrived with a small bag, and I met her by car. On the way to Tallinn we visited a couple of interesting places and waterfalls. Then we walked around Tallinn and on New Year’s night watched fireworks and the president’s speech on Freedom Square — though in Estonian, and she didn’t understand a word. Just two friends who decided to celebrate the holiday together.Also on January 1 and 2 we walked and drove to some places around Tallinn, but that’s how the time passed. I don’t even remember whether I drove her back to Narva to the border or she left from Tallinn, but that was the end of our real-life meetings. We hugged tightly and friendly goodbye. She went back to Moscow, I went home. At that time I had just moved from the dorm to an apartment and was doing a bit of renovation there. While she stayed with me, we lived in separate rooms.After that we kept in touch — already as real friends, but less and less often. No pressure, no jealousy, just good warm communication. I realised that it’s possible — a close person you feel comfortable with, even if they’re far away.
But over time the messaging became even rarer. Life pulled each of us in our own direction. We stayed on good terms, but without daily messages.This trip became an important milestone for me: I saw that I can be truly close to someone without romance or sex. And that long-distance friendship is beautiful, but I still want someone nearby every day. I don’t regret anything, the only thing is that I had to save a lot at that moment because of my financial situation, and we could have spent that time much more fun and brighter. Looking back, I can say that she is a very good person, and if we lived in the same city, I think we would communicate much more often and warmer, and maybe something would have turned out differently.
